Attention:  From 12/10 until 8/12 there's a children's exhibition 'Spiekpietjes'  in Fort Napoleon. This can disturb the standard visit and cause a lot of noise. Tip: Come early in the morning from 10h.


Getting here

  • By tram: stop Duin and Zee (dune & sea)
  • By car: Fort Napoleon is located on the Oosteroever (eastern bank), at the Koninklijke Baan (N34) between Ostend and Knokke. Follow the signposts. GPS-coordinates: 51.141974 °N 2.56596 °E. There is ample free parking space.
  • By local ferry: A free ferry service is available from the Visserskaai near the Noordzeeaquarium to the Maritiem Plein on the Oosteroever.


Fort Napoleon is fully accessible for both wheelchairs and prams, with the exception of the roof and caponiers. 

Dogs are not allowed, except guide dogs
