Measures covid-19

In accordance with government regulations, we have taken all necessary measures to allow our visitors to visit the Fort safely.

When visiting Fort Napoleon please take into account the following measures:

  • An online reservation is strongly advised. Please arrive at the correct date and time because we work with time slots. Reservations can be made via

  • Face masks are mandatory from 10 years while visiting Fort Napoleon

  • You have to present a valid covid safe ticket from 12 years at the entrance

  • Social distancing: the rule is to keep 1.5 meters away from people who are not part of your family. Follow the indications on the ground to do the tour safely.

  • Please disinfect your hands with the provided hand gel when entering and exiting.

  • A visit to the exhibition takes about 1 hour.

Getting here

  • By tram: stop Duin and Zee (dune & sea)
  • By car: Fort Napoleon is located on the Oosteroever (eastern bank), at the Koninklijke Baan (N34) between Ostend and Knokke. Follow the signposts. GPS-coordinates: 51.141974 °N 2.56596 °E. There is ample free parking space.
  • By local ferry: A free ferry service is available from the Visserskaai near the Noordzeeaquarium to the Maritiem Plein on the Oosteroever. From the drop off point it's a 15-minute walk to the fort.


Fort Napoleon is fully accessible for both wheelchairs and prams, with the exception of the roof and caponiers. 

Dogs are not allowed, except guide dogs
